As part of the Government's Living with COVID-19 response in England, venues are no longer advised to display the NHS QR code poster or collect contact details from attendees. From 24 February 2022, individuals will not receive a venue alert either from the NHS COVID-19 app or from NHS Test and Trace.

Some venues in Wales may continue to ask you to check-in manually, but no longer via the NHS COVID-19 app.

Thanks to the efforts of venues and those checking in, since April 2021 nearly 1.3 million alerts have been sent to individuals to warn them of their potential exposure and to prompt them to get tested. This has helped to identify positive cases, slow the spread of community transmission and reduce pressure on local healthcare services.

The NHS COVID-19 app remains a quick and easy way to get the latest advice and will continue to let you know if you’ve been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 so you can look out for symptoms and take care by following guidance on safer behaviours.
