Yes. You are strongly encouraged, even if you are fully vaccinated, to continue using the app. The NHS COVID-19 app is the fastest way to see if you're at risk from coronavirus (COVID-19). If you’ve been in close contact with someone who later tests positive for the virus, the app can alert you as quickly as 15 minutes after that person shares their test result in the app. This includes people you do not know, such as someone you queued next to in a supermarket or sat next to on a bus for a period of time. Even if you have been fully vaccinated, you could still get COVID-19 and get ill, and you can also still spread COVID-19 to others.

From 16 August 2021, if you come into close contact of someone with COVID-19, you will no longer need to self-isolate if you are:

  • under 18

or

The app lets you know the actions you can take to protect those around you. It helps you manage the risks by letting you know if you may have been exposed to someone who has since tested positive for coronavirus.
