The app is available in England and Wales. Outside of England and Wales, the NHS COVID-19 app will notify you of close contact exposures to and from users of the Scotland, Northern Ireland, Jersey and Gibraltar apps. This means that when visiting these places, you will still get alerts if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive on a PCR test for coronavirus (COVID-19) and don't need to download their apps.

If you travel to any other country outside of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Jersey and Gibraltar which has a contact tracing app, you will not receive any contact tracing alerts as a result of close contacts with users of other countries' apps who test positive for coronavirus.

If you develop symptoms, test positive for coronavirus or get an exposure notification, while you are away from home, you should always follow the local guidance of the country you are in.
